Bahnhof is an independent development and advisory firm focused on adaptive reuse projects. This focus is the out-growth of the shared experience of its founders, Joseph Schlais and John MacGregor, who have worked together on a variety of domestic and international rail and energy projects since 2002.

Joseph Schlais

Prior to forming Bahnhof, Joseph Schlais spent 15 years working in both real estate and management consulting. As a management consultant with ScottMadden, his work included the evaluation and management of largeĀ investments in traditional and also renewable energy infrastructure; including solar, wind, nuclear, renewable energy, and smart grid projects. Within energy, his work centered on advising the senior leadership of electric utilities in areas of both strategy and operations, with a specific emphasis on large, transformational programs of work greater than $200M in value.

John MacGregor

In addition to Bahnhof, John MacGregor is the co-founder and President of TransDevelopment Group, which plans and builds highly specialized intermodal, transloading, and finished vehicle shipping facilities at inland terminals and coastal seaports around the world. TransDevelopment has planned, designed, and developed over $500M in rail and shipping infrastructure since its founding in 1987. These projects include more than 90 facilities and 300 consulting engagements throughout North America, Europe, Asia and South America.
